Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered into a search tool is sent directly to the outside company that supplies that tool. The provider processes the query and produces its own results. Stewart County Criminal History does not retain or record those search terms on its systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be kept long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. We limit the message to our team and do not disclose it beyond the organization unless the law requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server automatically receives routine technical information about the visit:
- Your device's Internet Protocol address
- The browser name and version in use
- Operating-system and device categories
- Visited pages and the time spent on them
- A referring website, when one is reported
- The date and time associated with a page request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure how the resource is used, including popular pages and points where visits end. Analytics providers combine that activity into traffic reports. A browser can be set to reject cookies, though blocking them may change how some features behave.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Stewart County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It explains how to reach the Stewart County Sheriff, the courts that hear local criminal matters, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. Access to identifiable Tennessee government records is governed in part by the Tennessee Public Records Act, principally T.C.A. §§ 10-7-503 and 10-7-504, but this privately operated resource is not a government records custodian. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies provide the search boxes. Information submitted through a partner tool is handled under that company's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider chooses its own retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Stewart County Sheriff, Tennessee court portals, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or private search providers. Once a visitor follows an outbound link, the destination's privacy rules apply. Read them before supplying personal information.
Some advertising companies may observe activity across multiple websites to select targeted ads. That cross-site processing occurs through the advertiser's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- A search provider that processes a query submitted through its tool
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that deliver ads
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used security measures protect the information collected through this resource. No internet service can guarantee perfect protection, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If information from a minor has been provided, contact us so it can be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary with the privacy and consumer-protection law that applies where a visitor lives. The Tennessee Public Records Act, T.C.A. §§ 10-7-503 and 10-7-504, concerns access to government records and does not make this private resource a public office. Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify a request, a visitor may:

- Ask that inaccurate personal information be corrected
- Seek deletion of personal data where the law permits
